At ISNation, we believe athletes deserve real support from professionals who have been where they are now.

They deserve spaces where they can talk honestly about pressure, fear, identity, confidence, burnout, and the mental side of what it means to compete. They deserve guidance that reminds them they are not alone, not broken, and not defined only by what happens in a game.

That is why we are proud to welcome Mia Zambarano to ISNation as a trusted coach and member of our medical advisory board.

Mia brings both professional expertise and lived athletic experience to ISNation.

About Mia Zambarano

Mia brings a powerful combination of professional expertise, lived athletic experience, and deep care for the person behind the performance.

She is a licensed mental health therapist, mental performance specialist, and former Division I soccer player who specializes in helping athletes and high performers manage pressure, anxiety, setbacks, and expectations. On ISNation, Mia is a Certified Coach and member of our medical advisory board, where her work centers on proactive group support for teams, athlete mental health, and performance optimization.

Her path into this work is personal. As a former Division I athlete, Mia understands the experience of training, competing, navigating injury, facing pressure, and trying to perform while carrying everything life brings off the field. Her professional background gives her the tools to support athletes clinically, while her athletic background gives her the ability to relate to what they are experiencing in a real and meaningful way.

Mia’s background as a former Division I soccer player informs her work with athletes.

Mia earned her Master of Social Work from Boston University and has been in practice for 11 year. Her specialties include anxiety, athletes, mental performance, sports performance, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, and coping skills.

That combination matters.

Mia does not see mental performance as something separate from mental health. She understands that focus, confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and overall well-being are connected. When athletes are asked to push their bodies, they are also pushing their minds, emotions, and identities.

Her work helps athletes build the tools to handle all of it.

Why This Matters

Athletes today are carrying more than schedules, practices, games, and expectations.

They are carrying pressure to perform. Pressure to be confident. Pressure to recover quickly. Pressure to stay composed. Pressure to prove themselves. Pressure to know who they are when things are going well, and when they are not.

For many athletes, mental health support still feels like something they are supposed to seek only when things are already falling apart. But Mia’s work challenges that idea.

Her approach is proactive. It helps athletes build skills before pressure becomes overwhelming. It gives them language for what they are feeling, tools for what they are facing, and support for the moments that do not always show up on a stat sheet.

What Mia Brings to ISNation

First, as a coach, she gives athletes access to a trusted voice who understands both the clinical and competitive sides of performance. She brings evidence-based strategies that help athletes manage anxiety, build confidence, navigate pressure, and develop tools they can use in sport and in life.

Second, as a contributing expert to our medical advisory board, Mia helps expand the conversation around athlete mental health in a way that is honest, relatable, and action-oriented.

This matters because athletes do not need more empty motivation.

They need practical tools. They need trusted support. They need reminders that growth is not built only through fear, comparison, or pressure. It is built through consistency, self-awareness, connection, and the courage to take care of the full person behind the athlete.

What This Means for the ISNation Community

This collaboration is for the athletes, families, teams, and coaches who believe support should not wait until crisis.

It is for the athlete who wants to perform at a high level without losing themselves in the process.

At ISNation, we want athletes to know that they are more than their performance. Their worth is not determined by one result, one mistake, one injury, one season, or one opinion.

With Mia joining our community, we are continuing to build a space where athletes can grow with honesty, support, and practical tools they can carry into every part of their lives.

Together, we keep changing the conversation.

Together, we keep showing athletes they are not alone.
