Zenzele Apesemaka-Vital
Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Zenzele Apesemaka-Vital enters her second season with the Braves’ women’s basketball program at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP), joining the staff as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator beginning with the 2025-26 academic year. During her time in this role, she is tasked with player development, scouting, and the coordination of recruiting outreach and camp operations.
Her coaching career began at the Division I level as a graduate assistant at the University of Cincinnati, where she supported recruiting efforts and managed youth basketball camp logistics. She later served as an assistant coach at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, working primarily with guards and wings. Academically, Apesemaka-Vital earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cincinnati in May 2022 and completed her master’s degree in community psychology in May 2025 at the same institution.
