Zac Spavital is the inside linebackers coach for the University of Maryland football program in College Park, Maryland, entering his fourth season on the Terrapins' staff in 2026 and his second working with the inside linebackers.
Spavital joined Maryland in 2023 as safeties coach. In his first season, Maryland's safety group was led by All-Big Ten selection Beau Brade and Dante Trader Jr., who finished first and third on the team in tackles and combined for three interceptions. Safety Glendon Miller added a pick-six in Maryland's 31-13 win over Auburn in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl. Brade later signed with the New York Giants and Trader Jr. with the Miami Dolphins.
