Wil Martin
Assistant Coach
Wil Martin enters his fifth season as an assistant coach for the UCLA Bruins men’s tennis program in the 2025-26 academic year. Bringing both NCAA Division I playing experience and a deep coaching pedigree, he is part of the Bruin tennis tradition. He played collegiately at Saint Mary’s College and later returned to UCLA in 2018 to join his father, legendary coach Billy Martin, on the men’s tennis staff. In 2024-25—with Wil on staff—UCLA captured 17 of its final 20 matches, claimed the Big Ten Conference Tournament title by defeating top-seeded Ohio State and advanced to the NCAA Championships quarterfinals, underscoring the program's competitiveness during his tenure.
Earlier in his playing career at Saint Mary’s, Martin overcame a shoulder injury that delayed his full participation and showed resilience coming back for the 2013–14 season. On the coaching side, he has been involved in athlete development, doubles strategy, and program logistics under UCLA’s men’s tennis banner. His deep familial ties to the program and his ongoing contributions as an assistant coach at a high level of collegiate tennis signal his growing role in the Bruins’ success.
