Willie Simmons was named as the seventh head coach in the history of the FIU Football Program on Saturday, Dec. In year one under Simmons, FIU produced one of its best seasons in program history with several historic feats, including the program's first bowl game appearance since 2019, first victory over rival-Fla. Atlantic since 2016 and first overall winning record since 2018.
