William Tatge joined the Virginia Tech women’s volleyball coaching staff in May 2024. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach for Bradley University beginning in February 2023, where the Braves registered wins over Indiana State, Evansville, and Albany. Before Bradley, Tatge held the title of assistant coach and primary recruiting coordinator at Georgia State, contributing to Sun Belt victories over Marshall and Louisiana–Monroe. His earlier stop was with the University of Iowa, where he held an assistant coach position and briefly served as interim head coach.
Tatge’s coaching roots extend deeper: he helped lead Louisiana Tech’s women’s program to its best season since 2003 during his time there. He spent the 2018 season as a volunteer assistant at Ohio State. Before that, he was head women’s volleyball coach at Lees-McRae (DII), and also assisted with the men’s volleyball program. He spent two productive seasons at Montreat College (NAIA), earning Appalachian Athletic Conference Assistant Coach of the Year and AVCA Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year in 2014. Internationally, he coached at Durham University in England, serving in roles with both men’s and women’s squads.
