Wesley Sides
Assistant Baseball Coach
Wesley Sides is in his second season on the coaching staff at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), joining Head Coach Brett Kimbrel’s program prior to the 2024-25 academic year. A former standout infielder for the Lions, Sides played two seasons at EMCC and returned to his alma mater to take on expanded scouting and recruiting responsibilities. As a player, Sides started 69 games, compiled a .311 career batting average and .593 slugging percentage, hit 18 home runs, and drove in 60 RBIs. His sophomore season in 2022 was particularly impressive: he batted .346, slugged .642, led the team with 13 home runs, 40 RBIs, 47 runs scored and 102 total bases, helping the Lions secure a third-place finish in the MACCC regular season and their first NJCAA Region 23 Tournament berth since 2015.
In moving into his coaching role, Sides leverages his recent playing experience and recruiting acumen to contribute to EMCC’s program growth. His familiarity with the Lions’ culture, performance expectations, and conference competitive landscape give him a unique perspective as a liaison between returning players and incoming recruits.
