Wes Hart
Head Coach
Wes Hart has served as head coach of the University of Alabama women’s soccer program since April 2015, guiding the Crimson Tide to unprecedented national success. Under his leadership, Alabama has reached four NCAA Tournaments, highlighted by a historic 2022 campaign that included the program’s first SEC regular-season title with a perfect 10-0 conference record and its first-ever College Cup appearance. That season, the Tide posted a program-record 23 wins, achieved a No. 2 national ranking, and finished No. 4 in the country. Hart was named SEC Coach of the Year and led a staff recognized as the NCAA Division I Southeast Region Staff of the Year. His teams have produced All-Americans, multiple All-SEC honorees, and numerous professional players, including seven who signed NWSL contracts.
Before Alabama, Hart was an assistant coach at Florida State from 2013-15, helping the Seminoles capture their first national championship in 2014 while compiling a 47-3-4 record during his tenure. He also spent eight years with Colorado Rush, serving as Director of Coaching Academy and contributing to four national championships at the club level. A former MLS defender, Hart was the seventh overall pick in the 2000 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids and later played for the San Jose Earthquakes. A native of Littleton, Colorado, he earned All-America honors at the University of Washington. Hart and his spouse, Jamie, have two children, Dominic and Grace.
