Vinny Carlesi Jr.
Assistant Coach / Athletic Event Coordinator
Vinny Carlesi Jr. is an assistant baseball coach and athletic event coordinator for the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks, joining the coaching staff in 2023. In his dual role, Carlesi serves as co-hitting coach, oversees scouting operations, and manages third base duties during game day, playing an integral part in in-game offensive strategy and player development. His contributions span technical instruction, program organization, and competitive readiness, reflecting a deep commitment to the growth of Stevens’ baseball student-athletes both on and off the field.
Before coming to Stevens, Carlesi built a strong foundation in coaching and player development across multiple levels. He served as head coach of the New Jersey Rising Rebels 13U program from 2021 to 2023, guiding the team to four tournament championships and emphasizing fundamentals and long-term athletic growth. Carlesi’s experience also includes assistant coaching with the Essex Legends in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, as well as multifaceted roles at Montville High School, where he contributed as head assistant varsity coach, head scout, and strength and conditioning coach. Beyond formal coaching positions, he spent several years as a clinician and counselor for Nike Baseball Camps and numerous showcase programs, working with prospects to enhance technical skills and game awareness. As a former standout player, Carlesi earned numerous accolades in high school competition and continued his academic and athletic journey at Immaculata University and Drew University, studying business. His broad background in coaching, scouting, and player instruction informs his impact at Stevens.
