UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos announced on Thursday, Jun. 22, 2023, that coaching veteran Vann Stuedeman was selected to be the sixth head softball coach in program history. The Roadrunners saw immense improvements across the 2025 campaign, with 21 wins representing the most since 2019, while the team had remarkably better numbers in batting average (24.5% increase), on base percentage (13.2% increase), hits (25% increase), runs scored (21% increase), RBIs (21% increase), total bases (14% increase), stolen bases (44% increase).
