Valerie Nainima is an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Providence College women's basketball program in Providence, Rhode Island, and 2025-26 marks her fourth season on Erin Batth's staff.
Before joining Providence, Nainima spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Michigan, where she worked with the point guards and coached alongside Batth during the 2022-23 season. Michigan reached the NCAA Tournament in both of her years with the program. The Wolverines advanced to the Elite Eight in 2021-22 and finished 25-7, then went 23-10 overall and 11-7 in the Big Ten in 2022-23. That team spent 19 straight weeks in the national rankings, climbed as high as No. 12, and entered the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 18 before advancing to the second round. While at Michigan, Nainima also worked closely with Leigha Brown, an AP All-America honorable mention and All-Big Ten selection.
