Tyler Starr
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Tyler Starr is an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Morgan State University, where he joined the Bears’ athletic department in the fall of 2023. Entering his second year with the program, Starr works closely with student-athletes across multiple sports, contributing to strength development, conditioning, injury prevention, and overall athletic performance. His role supports Morgan State’s commitment to competitive excellence while maintaining a strong emphasis on athlete health and long-term development.
Starr earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida, where he built a strong academic foundation in human performance and training principles. Following his undergraduate studies, he gained hands-on experience as a volunteer with the strength and conditioning staff at the University of North Florida in 2020, before returning to UCF to volunteer with the football strength program in 2021. He later completed a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Central Florida in 2023. During his graduate studies, Starr also volunteered with the strength staff at Flagler College, assisting with women’s lacrosse, women’s basketball, and baseball. A native of Ashburn, Virginia, he holds Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credentials along with a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based training and professional development.
