Tyler Packanik
Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Tyler Packanik is in his second season on staff at Jacksonville State and serves as the program’s Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator under head coach Steve Bieser. A trusted assistant who followed Bieser from the University of Missouri, Packanik has quickly made a significant impact on the Gamecocks’ roster construction and on-field performance. In his first season in Jacksonville, he helped assemble one of the top recruiting classes in program history. Perfect Game ranked Jax State’s 2024 recruiting class No. 87 nationally, marking the highest ranking for the program since the organization began tracking classes in 2011. His efforts on the recruiting trail have strengthened the foundation of the Gamecocks as they compete in Conference USA.
On the field, Packanik works extensively with the defense, particularly the infield, and oversees baserunning strategy while coaching first base. Under his guidance, the Gamecocks became one of the most aggressive teams on the base paths in 2024, totaling 92 stolen bases — the program’s highest mark since 2010 and among the leaders in Conference USA. Prior to Missouri, Packanik served as director of personnel and video coordination at Stetson, where he managed scouting, analytics, and technology integration in recruiting and player development. He also coached at Bucknell as a volunteer assistant, working with infielders and hitters. A native of Plant City, Florida, Packanik is a 2016 graduate of Marietta College.
