Tyler Nelin is an assistant baseball coach at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and enters his third season on the staff in 2026. He works with the Patriots' hitters and coaches the catchers and other defensive positions.
George Mason posted one of the strongest seasons in program history in 2025 under that staff. The Patriots finished 40-21 overall and 20-10 in Atlantic 10 play, placed second in the conference standings, and reached the championship game of the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia. The 40 victories were the program's most since 2009, and the 20 conference wins were the school's highest total since joining the A-10 and its most league wins since 2004. George Mason also set an NCAA record by scoring 23 runs in the second inning of a March 4 game against Holy Cross at Spuhler Field.
