In her first season in Coral Gables, Miami posted a 14-15 overall record, including a 10-1 mark in non-conference play — the best start by a first-year coach in program history. Under her guidance, the Hurricanes achieved notable wins such as defeating Florida in Gainesville and capturing the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament title. Cullop’s leadership in year one also saw player accolades, including Haley Cavinder earning Second Team All-ACC honors. Additionally, her 2025 recruiting class was ranked among the top in the nation by ESPN, complemented by a highly regarded transfer portal class.
Before arriving at Miami, Cullop built a distinguished 16-season tenure as the head coach at the University of Toledo, where she compiled a record of 353-169. She led the Rockets to five Mid-American Conference regular-season championships, 11 postseason appearances, and two NCAA Tournament berths, becoming the winningest coach in the program’s history. Cullop’s teams consistently achieved success on and off the court, earning multiple conference Coach of the Year honors and the 2022 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Carol Eckman Integrity in Coaching Award for her leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment to student-athletes. Earlier in her career, she served as head coach at the University of Evansville and as an assistant at Radford, Long Beach State, and Xavier. A native of Bicknell, Indiana, Cullop was a standout player at Purdue University and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
