Trey Morris
Assistant Coach
Trey Morris was named Assistant Coach for the Auburn men’s tennis program in July 2024, bringing a strong record of program building and player development to the Plains. Prior to joining Auburn, Morris served as head coach at Jacksonville State, where he led the Gamecocks to a 15-10 overall record in 2024 and the highest ITA national ranking in program history at No. 80. Five players earned all-conference honors under his leadership, and he coached Ivan Marrero Curbelo to the first ITA singles ranking in school history (No. 45). Morris also secured the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history at Jacksonville State, ranked No. 33 nationally by Tennis Recruiting Network and the top class in Alabama that year.
Before Jacksonville State, Morris was associate head coach at UAB and previously served three seasons as head coach and Director of Tennis at Montana State. In 2022, he was named Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Bobcats to a conference championship and an 18-8 record. His tenure included multiple historic milestones, such as Montana State’s first NCAA Doubles Championship Round of 16 appearance and its highest ITA doubles ranking (No. 23). A former standout player at Appalachian State, Morris earned All-Sun Belt honors in doubles and later served as a volunteer assistant coach. The Colbert, Georgia native also directed Baskin-McGill Tennis Academy, achieving a 100 percent college placement rate for his students. Morris and his wife, Katelyn, have three children: James, Mara, and Sutton.
