Travis Doak is the associate head coach for West Virginia University gymnastics in Morgantown, West Virginia, entering his 19th season on the staff and his 13th in his current role at his alma mater. He coaches uneven bars, directs skill selection and routine construction across all four events, and oversees the program's recruiting efforts. Since joining the Mountaineers in 2009, he has been part of 14 NCAA Regional Championship appearances, a conference championship, and an overall team record of 216-173-1.
In 2026, Doak contributed to a season in which Amber Lowe, Sophia Rice, and Emerson Smith advanced to NCAA Regionals as individual event specialists. Freshman Kayla Smith emerged as one of the program's top newcomers, earning All-Big 12 all-around and freshman honors and becoming only the third freshman in school history to surpass 500 points in a season, the first to do so since 2008. West Virginia recorded 57 individual podium finishes, used 15 of 17 gymnasts in at least one lineup, and placed 13 student-athletes on the Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team.
