Tony Skinn is the head coach of the George Mason University men's basketball program in Fairfax, Virginia, a position he assumed in April 2023 as the 12th head coach in school history.
A former George Mason guard and member of the Patriots' 2006 Final Four team, Skinn returned to his alma mater after nearly 10 years as a college assistant. His start as head coach has been one of the most productive in program history. Over his first three seasons, George Mason set school bests for total wins, conference wins, overall winning percentage, and league winning percentage for a head coach at that stage of his tenure. He became the first coach in program history to open a career with three consecutive 20-win seasons, reached 50 victories faster than any previous Mason head coach, and led the Patriots to back-to-back National Invitation Tournament appearances, the program's first consecutive postseason berths since 2007-09. During his tenure, George Mason also remained in the NET top 100 in each of his first three seasons, one of only three Atlantic 10 programs to do so in that span.
