Tony Mellaci has served as special assistant to the head coach for Fordham baseball in Bronx, New York, since 2018 after more than three decades on the staff at Rose Hill as an assistant coach and director of baseball operations.
Over his Fordham tenure, Mellaci worked extensively with the infield and team defense, coached first base, supported recruiting, and maintained ties with youth programs and the program's alumni network. He was part of the staff for Fordham's 1998 Atlantic 10 championship and helped the Rams reach the Atlantic 10 Tournament four times. During his years with the program, Fordham produced eight 30-win seasons and won seven league titles across the MAAC, Patriot League, and Atlantic 10. He also contributed to teams that produced 10 All-Atlantic 10 selections, two conference Players of the Year, and two Rookies of the Year. In 2005, Fordham posted 34 overall wins and 17 conference wins, its best totals in those categories in several years.
