Tom Stebbins
Head Diving Coach
Tom Stebbins enters his 26th season as head coach of the UCLA Bruins women’s diving program (as of 2023-24). Under his leadership, the program has achieved sustained success: he was named the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Diving Coach of the Year in 2018-19, and captured three consecutive Pac‑12 Conference Diving Coach of the Year awards from 2017-19, becoming only the second person ever to earn that three-peat.
Prior to arriving at UCLA, Stebbins served as head diving coach at Fordham University, where he coached athletes to Atlantic 10 titles and recorded undefeated seasons. As a student-athlete, he competed at Yale University, where he was a four-year letterwinner, a three-time NCAA Zone qualifier, a four-time All-Ivy League selection and a member of the 1993 Ivy League co-championship team. He graduated from Yale in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Stebbins’ coaching philosophy emphasises accountability, continuous improvement, and leveraging the opportunities afforded by UCLA’s storied athletics program. He encourages divers to take charge of their performance, their studies, and their future beyond the pool.
