Tommy Gardiner
Assistant Coach
Tommy Gardiner is in his second season as an assistant coach at Maryland, having been promoted to this role ahead of the 2024 season. Before that, he served as Director of Player Development for the Maryland baseball program beginning in February 2022. During his first season as assistant coach, he helped lead the team to a 34–22 record, which is tied for the sixth-most wins in a single season in program history. Gardiner played collegiate baseball for Maryland from 2018 to 2021, participating in 108 games for the Terrapins. In his senior season, he batted .248 with four home runs and 29 RBIs. As a player he played across multiple infield positions and was part of the 2021 Maryland team that made a postseason regional appearance. He earned his degree from Maryland in December 2021.
