Toia Giggetts
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Toia Giggetts began her role on the Queens University of Charlotte women’s basketball staff in July 2024 and is entering her second season with the Royals in 2024–25. At Queens, she is charged with being the lead forward/post coach, coordinating team travel, serving as an academic mentor, and assisting head coach Jen Brown with daily program operations. Her role also includes scouting, recruiting support, and player development.
Prior to her appointment at Queens, Giggetts spent the 2023–24 season at Hampton University as an assistant coach, where she supported recruiting, scouting, player development (for both guards and posts), and managed team travel logistics. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, she starred at Lake Taylor High School before playing collegiately at James Madison University. At JMU, she helped lead the Lady Dukes to CAA championships in 2014 and 2015, scored 1,162 career points, earned All-Rookie honors, and was a two-time Conference Player of the Week. After college, she played professionally in Switzerland for two seasons, topping the scoring charts for Geneva Elite in her second season. Giggetts graduated with honors from James Madison in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality.
