Todd Golden
Head Coach
Todd Golden (born July 7, 1985) is the head coach of the Florida Gators men’s basketball team. He was appointed to this role in March 2022 after a successful stint at the University of San Francisco, where he compiled a 57-36 record over three seasons and guided the Dons to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998. Prior to his head coaching roles, Golden served on coaching staffs at Columbia, Auburn, and as associate head coach at USF. As a player, he starred at Saint Mary’s College, helping the Gaels to two NCAA Tournament appearances, and later played professionally in Israel.
Through the 2024-25 season, Golden has markedly elevated Florida’s basketball program. Under his leadership, the Gators recorded a 36–4 season, won the SEC Tournament, and captured the program’s third NCAA National Championship—marking Florida’s return to the top of college basketball. His teams have shown a pattern of strong regular season success, significant improvement in offensive and defensive metrics, and increased success against ranked opponents.
