Offensive Coordinator
Tim Beck Jr. is a seasoned American football coach with more than 30 years of experience at every level of the game. A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Beck attended the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he played briefly before beginning his coaching career. He later earned a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from Kansas State University. Beck’s coaching journey began in the high school ranks before progressing to college roles on staffs at Missouri State, Kansas State, Illinois State, and Kansas. His early career included responsibilities ranging from wide receivers coach to offensive coordinator and graduate assistant, laying the foundation for his offensive expertise.
Beck spent 12 seasons as an offensive coordinator at major Power 4 programs including Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas, and NC State, where his units consistently produced high-powered offenses. At Ohio State, his offense posted consecutive double-digit winning seasons and earned a College Football Playoff berth, while at Texas, he tutored quarterback Sam Ehlinger to one of the most prolific statistical careers in school history. Beck then served as head coach at Coastal Carolina from 2023–25, leading the Chanticleers to multiple bowl appearances and victories. Known nationally for his recruiting ability and offensive acumen—including three Broyles Award nominations—Beck now brings his experience to USF, tasked with energizing the Bulls’ offense and mentoring quarterbacks and skill-position players.
