Tee Butters
Associate Head Coach
Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of South Florida, a position he was named to in April 2025 under head coach Bryan Hodgson. Prior to joining USF, Butters worked alongside Hodgson at Arkansas State University, where he split the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons as an assistant coach and associate head coach, respectively. During his time with the Red Wolves, he contributed to a highly successful stretch that included strong conference play, significant program progression, and national recognition in coaching circles.
Before his stint in Jonesboro, Butters spent nine seasons on the coaching staff at Charleston Southern University, four of them as Associate Head Coach. At Charleston Southern, he was deeply involved in player development, recruiting, and game planning, playing a key role in the growth of standout contributors — including Phlandrous Fleming Jr., a Big South Defensive Player of the Year — and helping guide the Bucs to notable wins over Power Five programs like Ole Miss and Missouri. His coaching journey began at Clemson University, where he served as a student manager and graduate assistant, focusing on player development, recruiting operations, and academic support. Butters also gained experience coaching at the high school level and working elite basketball camps, including those associated with Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke. In 2022, he was one of 12 coaches selected for the Jay Bilas Coaches Leadership Program, highlighting his reputation as an emerging leader in the profession. Butters graduated from Clemson University in 2011 and comes from a strong basketball lineage as the grandson of former Duke athletic director Tom Butters. He and his wife, Lauren, have two sons, Thomas and Hudson.
