Ted Roof enters the 2026 season as Boston College's Kevin T. Fee Family Defensive Coordinator for the football program in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, adding another stop to a coaching career that has included more than 30 years of Power 4 experience and defensive coordinator roles across the country.
Roof first became a defensive coordinator at Massachusetts in 1995 and later held that title at Georgia Tech, Duke, Minnesota, Auburn, UCF, Penn State, NC State, Appalachian State, Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. He also served as Duke's head coach from 2004 through 2007 after first joining the Blue Devils as defensive coordinator and then being elevated to interim head coach in 2003. Across his career, he has coached more than 110 players who later reached the professional ranks and has been part of staffs that produced 17 bowl appearances.
