Taylor Housewright
Offensive Coordinator
Taylor Housewright joined the Jacksonville State football staff prior to the 2025 season and serves as the program’s Offensive Coordinator after initially coming aboard as tight ends coach. He arrived in Jacksonville following a 2024 season at Georgia Southern, where he worked as a senior analyst under offensive coordinator Clint Trickett. Before that, Housewright spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Montana State, helping guide the Bobcats to national prominence at the FCS level. In 2022, Montana State ranked second nationally in both scoring offense and rushing offense, and the program advanced to the FCS National Championship Game during the 2021 campaign.
During his tenure at Montana State, Housewright played a key role in developing quarterback Tommy Mellott, the 2024 Walter Payton Award winner and FCS ADA Offensive Player of the Year. His coaching background also includes analyst and quality control roles at Oregon and Mississippi State under Joe Moorhead, as well as time at Wyoming working with running backs and tight ends. A former standout quarterback at Ashland University, Housewright finished fifth in the 2012 Harlon Hill Trophy voting. He transitioned into coaching with graduate assistant and position coach roles at Miami (Ohio), Wittenberg, and Ashland before rising through the collegiate ranks. He joins a Jacksonville State program coming off three consecutive nine-win seasons, back-to-back bowl appearances, and a 2024 Conference USA championship.
