Taylor Cameron
Assistant Softball Coach
Taylor Cameron, a native of Tharptown, Alabama, is in her second year as Assistant Softball Coach at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC). Before joining the Lions’ coaching staff in 2024-25, she was a standout pitcher at Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC), where over two seasons she logged 326.1 innings, recorded 267 career strikeouts, held opponents to a .246 batting average, tallied 13 career wins and seven saves, and made 76 appearances (46 starts and 24 complete games). In her sophomore season at NWSCC she struck out a career-high 142 batters in 167 innings, including a three-hit shutout versus Motlow State.
As an assistant coach at EMCC, Cameron works closely with the pitching staff, helping lead the program to its first postseason softball appearance in eight years and contributing significantly to the development of All-MACCC honorable-mention pitcher Gail Wisher. Her coaching résumé also includes experience at Russellville High School in Alabama and with the KRAZE travel ball club. As a two-sport athlete at Tharptown High School, she earned honorable-mention on the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State Softball Team and also lettered in volleyball. Cameron brings a strong pitching-technique foundation, recruiting and player-development experience, and a track record as both a player and coach at different levels of the game.
