Tavita Pritchard was named Stanford football's Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football on November 28, 2025, becoming the 37th head coach in program history. A 2009 Stanford graduate and former Cardinal quarterback, he returned to The Farm after three seasons as quarterbacks coach with the Washington Commanders.
Pritchard previously spent more than a decade on Stanford's staff in offensive and position-coach roles, contributing to a run that included 10 consecutive bowl games, three Rose Bowl appearances, and Orange and Fiesta Bowl trips. His playing career included 31 games for Stanford and the 2007 upset win at USC, and his coaching work in Washington included the development of AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels.
