Taurean Green
Assistant Coach
Taurean Green enters his fourth season on staff with the Florida Gators in 2025–26, serving his third year as an assistant coach. A former standout point guard for the Gators’ back-to-back national championship teams in 2006 and 2007, Green added a third national title to his résumé in 2025 as a coach. That season, Florida went 36-4, won the SEC Tournament, and reached its sixth Final Four, closing on a 12-game winning streak that included nine victories over top-25 opponents. Green has helped Florida re-establish itself as one of the nation’s elite programs, guiding the Gators to multiple NCAA Tournament runs, player development successes, and a program-record offensive output during his tenure. Before joining Florida’s coaching staff, Green worked with the Chicago Bulls as a player development coordinator under his former coach Billy Donovan. He retired from a 14-year professional career in 2021 that spanned the NBA and overseas, winning league titles in France and Poland and earning All-Star honors in Greece. As a Gator, Green was a two-time All-SEC performer and the MVP of the 2007 NCAA Midwest Regional, finishing his college career with 1,174 points before being selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2007 NBA Draft. His blend of championship experience as both a player and coach makes him a vital presence on the UF bench.
