Tasha Brown
Assistant Coach
Tasha Brown enters her eighth season (2025-26) as an assistant coach with the UCLA women’s basketball program, having joined the staff on May 29, 2018. In those seven seasons, the Bruins have recorded 171 wins, made six NCAA Tournament appearances, and advanced to a Final Four under her tenure, including three straight Sweet 16s. Her coaching career spans more than two decades, in which she has made nine postseason appearances, helped develop 16 all-conference players and 12 professional athletes.
Prior to UCLA, Brown served as an assistant coach at Rice University (2017-18) and the University of Cincinnati (five seasons). Earlier, she was head coach at Western Michigan University for four seasons, guiding her teams each year to All-Mid-American Conference and All-Academic honorees. A native of Rock Island, Illinois, Brown earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from St. Ambrose University in 1997 after playing four years of collegiate basketball (Illinois Central → Southwest Missouri State → St. Ambrose). Renowned among her peers for coaching with purpose, Brown emphasizes player development, recruitment, and mentoring young women beyond the court.
