Tariq Drake joined Charlotte’s football staff as part of head coach Tim Albin’s initial coaching staff in January 2025 as a defensive analyst before being elevated to the cornerbacks coach a year later. In his first season with Charlotte, Drake worked primarily with the Niners' safeties. He helped Ja'Qurious Conley and Randy Franklin have their best seasons in 2025, with Conley leading the team with three interceptions and Franklin posting a career-high 63 tackles for fifth on the team while leading the squad with two forced fumbles.
