Taliek Brown is an assistant coach for the St. John's men's basketball program in Queens, New York, and joined the Red Storm staff in April 2023 after a 10-year professional playing career and earlier coaching experience in the New York area and at UConn.
Since arriving at St. John's, Brown has been part of a major run of success for the program. Over his first three seasons, the Red Storm went 81-25, posted consecutive 30-win seasons, captured back-to-back outright BIG EAST regular-season titles and back-to-back BIG EAST Tournament championships, matched a school record with 31 wins in 2024-25, earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, won the program's first NCAA Tournament game since 2000, and then advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1999 the following season. During his tenure, RJ Luis Jr. was named BIG EAST Player of the Year in 2025, and Zuby Ejiofor later won the same award while also being selected BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
