Sydney Wells is an assistant softball coach at Central Washington University, entering her first season with the Wildcats in Ellensburg. A Washington native, Wells returns to the region following an accomplished collegiate playing career at Fordham University, where she developed into one of the most productive hitters in program history. As a four-year starting catcher, she finished her career ranked among the top ten in several offensive categories, including RBIs, home runs, and walks. Her standout senior season in 2025 earned her Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year honors, along with First-Team All-Conference and NFCA All-Region recognition, after posting elite offensive numbers and leading the team in multiple statistical categories.
Wells built a reputation for power hitting, plate discipline, and leadership throughout her collegiate career, consistently contributing as a run producer while maintaining strong academic performance. Prior to Fordham, she starred at Selah High School near Ellensburg, where she was a multi-sport athlete and set school records while earning league MVP honors. She also competed at a high level in club softball, achieving national recognition. Wells graduated in 2025 with a degree in Engineering Physics, bringing both analytical perspective and high-level playing experience to her coaching role. At Central Washington, she contributes to player development, particularly with hitters and catchers, while helping mentor student-athletes on and off the field.
