Sydney Pickrem is an assistant men's and women's swimming coach for West Virginia University's swimming and diving program in Morgantown, West Virginia. She joined the WVU staff in July 2024 and is in her third season with the program. Her responsibilities include designing practice plans for the team and assisting with recruiting.
Before entering coaching, Pickrem built an accomplished international career with Team Canada. She competed at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Olympic Games, placing sixth in the 200-meter individual medley at both the 2016 and 2024 Olympics and adding a ninth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke in Paris. At the Tokyo Olympics, she won bronze with Canada's 4x100 medley relay and also reached the final of the 200 individual medley, where she placed sixth. She retired from competitive swimming in April 2026.
