Susanna Bruce is an assistant coach for the Villanova women's rowing program in Villanova, Pennsylvania, having joined the staff for the 2023-24 season in her first collegiate coaching position.
Bruce came to Villanova after a four-year rowing career at Wisconsin, where she earned an undergraduate degree in data science, computer science, and environmental studies. She was named the team's Most Valuable Freshman in 2020, spent three years in the 1V8, and received second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2023. During her time with the Badgers, Wisconsin placed as high as fourth at the Big Ten Championships and finished 14th at the 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships. A native of Oxford, Maryland, Bruce also coached with camps and clubs, including teaching Learn to Row and offering rowing and sculling instruction at Freedom Rowers Club in Easton, Maryland, from 2021 to 2022.
