Steve Curran is the associate head coach for George Mason University men's basketball in Fairfax, Virginia, a position he has held since April 2023 after 13 seasons on Mark Schmidt's staff at St. Bonaventure.
In his first two years at George Mason, Curran was part of a staff that produced the best two-season start for a coaching group in program history, with 47 overall wins, 24 conference wins, a .691 overall winning percentage, and a .667 league winning percentage. In 2024-25, George Mason earned a share of its first Atlantic 10 regular-season championship, matched the school record with 27 wins, recorded 15 conference victories to set a new program mark in the A-10, and reached the conference title game for the first time since 2009. The Patriots also secured their first double bye in the A-10 Tournament, won an NIT game for the first time since 2004, and opened league play 12-1, the best start in conference play in the program's 59-year history.
