Stephen Roche is the head coach of the Hofstra University men's soccer program in Hempstead, New York, a position he assumed on January 1, 2026 as the 10th head coach in program history.
Roche spent 10 seasons on the Hofstra staff before taking over the program. He joined the Pride in June 2016, was elevated to associate head coach on April 30, 2021, and was named head coach in waiting in September 2024 when Richard Nuttall moved into athletic development at Hofstra. Over his decade on staff, Hofstra reached the CAA Championship every year, winning tournament titles in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Pride also advanced to the championship match in 2018 and 2020-21 and reached the semifinals in 2016, 2019, and 2025.
