Stephen Curtis is the head coach of women's tennis at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and entered his 23rd season leading the program in 2025-26. Since taking over a team that had gone 6-13 the year before his arrival and had posted six straight losing seasons, he has compiled a 237-234 overall record and produced 13 regular seasons with at least 10 wins. His most successful team came in 2009-10, when George Mason set a school record with 21 victories. In 2025, he received the Dave Borelli Leadership Award at the Annual OCCTA Tennis Conference.
Curtis has continued to guide the program to notable results in recent seasons. George Mason went 8-11 in 2025-26 after opening the year with a three-match winning streak, and junior Cenan Liu earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team recognition. In 2024-25, the Patriots recorded a 4-0 win over Saint Louis and were recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team, with six players named ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athletes; Liu also received conference postseason honors. In 2022-23, George Mason finished 10-7, earned its first Atlantic 10 wins over Saint Louis and Dayton, and placed Paige La and Taylor Garcia on the all-conference team.
