Stefan Defregger is the associate head coach for the University of Connecticut men's soccer program in Storrs, Connecticut, joining Chris Gbandi's staff in August 2024.
Defregger arrived at UConn after serving as an assistant coach at the University of New Hampshire. Before that, he spent 2018 to 2023 on the staff at Northeastern, where he was twice the interim head coach and was part of a program that produced 18 All-Conference selections, five All-Region honorees, a Rookie of the Year, and six players who went on to professional soccer. His earlier coaching experience includes work as head coach of a Seacoast United MLS Next team and as an assistant coach at the University of Rochester, where he was part of the 2017 University Athletic Association Coaching Staff of the Year as the team reached the Division III Elite 8 for the first time in program history.
