Stamatia Scarvelis serves as Volunteer Assistant Coach for California Track & Field. Two-time Greek Olympian Stamatia Scarvelis enters her first year aiding the development of the Bears’ throwers under assistant coach Tyler Burdorff in 2025-26.
As a collegian, Scarvelis competed for Tennessee from 2017-19, breaking the program record in the hammer and earning two U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) First-Team All-America nods and three SEC titles (the hammer in 2018-19 and the weight in 2019) after a two-year stint at UCLA. Scarvelis has competed for Greece in the hammer throw in two Olympic Games (2021, 24) and three World Championships (2022-23, 25).
