Graduate Assistant
Shelly Chen serves as a Graduate Assistant for the Jacksonville State women’s golf program, contributing to the daily operations and development of the Gamecocks’ NCAA Division I team. In her role, Chen assists the head coach with practice coordination, tournament preparation, recruiting support, and administrative responsibilities. She works closely with student-athletes to help organize training sessions, track performance metrics, and ensure readiness for Conference USA competition. Her position allows her to gain hands-on collegiate coaching experience while supporting the program’s competitive and academic goals.
As a graduate assistant, Chen plays a key role in fostering a positive team culture and promoting continuous improvement. She assists with statistical analysis, travel logistics, and player development planning, helping create structured and efficient preparation for tournaments throughout the season. Her involvement in both on-course instruction and behind-the-scenes operations provides valuable support to the program while allowing her to develop professionally within collegiate athletics. Through her work with Jacksonville State women’s golf, Chen contributes to a program focused on competitive growth, academic excellence, and student-athlete development.
