Shawn Camp is the head baseball coach at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and enters his fourth season leading the Patriots in 2026. A former George Mason player and Fairfax native, Camp returned to his alma mater as assistant coach and pitching coach for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, was promoted to associate head coach in 2022, and took over as head coach in 2023.
Under Camp, George Mason has produced some of the program's best recent seasons. In 2025, the Patriots finished 40-21 overall and 20-10 in Atlantic 10 play, placed second in the conference standings, and reached the championship game of the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia. The 40 wins were the program's highest total since 2009, and the 20 conference victories were George Mason's most since joining the Atlantic 10 and its most league wins in any conference since 2004. The Patriots also went 20-5 at home.
