Shaun Brown is the high performance coach for Providence College men's basketball in Providence, Rhode Island, a position he assumed on May 27, 2025. His return to Providence marked a second stint in the Friars athletic department after serving as the school's head strength coach from 1989 to 1992.
Brown arrived with 33 years of strength and conditioning experience, including 25 years in college athletics and eight in the NBA. Before rejoining Providence, he worked at West Virginia from 2018 to 2024 after five seasons with Minnesota men's basketball. Earlier collegiate stops included USC from 2010 to 2013 and Virginia from 2006 to 2009. He also spent five seasons at Kentucky from 1992 to 1997, when the Wildcats reached three Final Fours and won the 1996 NCAA Championship, and began his career at Rutgers as an assistant strength coach.
