Assistant Coach
Shanysse Emerenciana is in her fifth season as an assistant coach with the Florida Institute of Technology softball program, a role she assumed in September 2021 after previously serving as a graduate assistant. During her time on the coaching staff, she has played a key role in sustaining the Panthers’ competitive success, helping guide the program to four consecutive seasons of 25 or more wins and a combined 114–85 overall record. Emerenciana’s impact has been felt across multiple facets of the game, as she has helped develop 10 All-Sunshine State Conference selections, including five first-team honorees and four All-Defensive Team members. Her defensive emphasis contributed to one of the top fielding seasons in program history, including a .967 team fielding percentage in 2024 and a program-record 118 stolen bases during the 2025 season.
Emerenciana is a former Florida Tech student-athlete who played for the Panthers from 2017 to 2019 and was a member of the historic 2019 squad that captured the program’s first Sunshine State Conference championship while setting a school record with 42 wins. She earned All-SSC First Team honors that season and appeared in 104 career games, contributing both offensively and defensively. Following her playing career, she transitioned into coaching, assisting with infield development, hitting, recruiting, athlete development, and academic support during her graduate assistant tenure. A native of Willemstad, Curaçao, Emerenciana holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management and a master’s degree in business administration from Florida Tech. In addition to her collegiate coaching responsibilities, she remains active in player development through local training and travel ball programs in the Melbourne, Florida area.
