Shane Monroe
Head Coach
Shane Monroe was hired in September 2025 as the third head coach in the history of the Stockton University women’s tennis program. A Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Level II certified coach, Monroe has worked as a tennis instructor since 2019 and brings a diverse coaching background to the Ospreys. His experience includes instructional and coaching roles at the Palm Beach Bath and Tennis Club, North Palm Beach Country Club, Ibis Country Club, Phipps Ocean Park, Jupiter Island Club, Brunswick Hills Tennis Club, the Ocean City Recreation Department and the Louisiana State University club tennis team. His broad experience across private clubs, collegiate club programs and community settings has shaped his player development approach.
As a player, Monroe competed four years at the NCAA Division I level, spending two seasons at Brigham Young University (2014–16) and two at Louisiana State University (2017–19). At BYU, he posted a 37-17 record at No. 1 singles along with 17 doubles victories and earned All-West Coast Conference Second Team singles honors in 2016. He continued his success at LSU, collecting 26 singles wins at the No. 1 position and 23 doubles victories, earning All-SEC Second Team recognition in 2018. Prior to college, Monroe trained at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy and competed scholastically at St. Augustine Prep.
