Seth Tierney is the head coach of the Hofstra University men's lacrosse team in Hempstead, New York, a position he has held since August 2006 as the fifth head coach in program history. Entering the 2026-27 academic year, he is beginning his 21st season leading the Pride. He also serves as head coach of the U.S. Men's Senior National Team, which he is slated to lead through the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan, and he holds a leadership role with the Premier Lacrosse League as Head of Competition.
Through 20 completed seasons at Hofstra, Tierney has compiled 150 victories and guided the program to the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship, regular-season CAA titles in 2009, 2011, and 2014, and four straight NCAA Championship appearances from 2008 through 2011. Under his direction, Hofstra players have earned 15 All-America honors and 86 all-conference selections. His teams have also produced strong academic results, with repeated conference and national academic recognition.
