In Hamden, Connecticut, Sean O'Brien is entering his fourth season as an assistant coach for Quinnipiac University's men's soccer program. He joined the Bobcats after five seasons coaching at his alma mater, Southern Connecticut State, and has served as head coach of Beachside Soccer Club since 2018. Earlier in his coaching career, he also worked at Notre Dame High School and Everson Soccer Academy.
As a player at Southern Connecticut State, O'Brien was a three-year captain and helped lead the program to the 2006 NCAA Division II Elite Eight and the 2007 NE-10 Conference championship. He later played professionally for SC Hartenfels Torgau 04 e.v. and Elm City Express, captaining Elm City Express to the 2017 NPSL National Championship.
