Sean Lewis is the Head Coach for San Diego State Football. Named the 19th head coach in program history on November 29, 2023, he brought head-coaching experience from Kent State and offensive coordinator experience from Colorado, Syracuse, Bowling Green, and Eastern Illinois. After a 3-9 first season at SDSU, he led the Aztecs to a 9-4 record in 2025 and their first bowl appearance since 2022.
Lewis is known for fast-paced offensive systems and player development. At Colorado, he helped the Buffaloes make major year-over-year gains in scoring and yardage, and at Kent State he guided the program to bowl success and sustained improvement after his first season. His earlier coaching stops included record-setting offenses at Syracuse and Bowling Green, work with Jimmy Garoppolo at Eastern Illinois, and playing experience at Wisconsin, where he earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
