In 2023, Buffalo finished 23-9 overall and 13-5 in the MAC, recorded its first 20-win season since 1995, rose as high as No. 54 in the NCAA RPI, won its first MAC East Division title, earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, and received a bid to the NIVC. In 2022, the Bulls went 19-14, reached the MAC Tournament, defeated Ohio in the quarterfinals, advanced to the semifinals, and earned the first postseason berth of the program's Division I era with an invitation to the NIVC.
